YMCA of the Rockies in Colorado adds Snowflex® to its summer attractions

Screen Shot 2014-10-15 at 10.30.54.pngBriton Engineering Developments Ltd is delighted to announce that it has been contracted to design and build their latest Snowflex® project in Colorado in the USA.

Briton received the order from the YMCA of the Rockies during June 2013, to design and build the USA's largest synthetic tubing run using the high performance snow sports surface Snowflex®.

Located in Colorado near Winter Park, Rocky Mountain National Park & Grand Lake, The YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch offers a wholesome environment where friends, families and groups enjoy a tranquil setting, spending quality time together with an abundance of activities to do.

Situated on more than 5,000 acres, the ranch's on-site activities include horseback riding, hiking, biking, canoeing, a zip line and a variety of family programmes, plus easy access to nearby fishing, boating and rafting. Winter activities include cross-country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, winter family programmes, and the ranch offers easy access to the Winter Park, Mary Jane, and Ski Granby Ranch downhill ski areas.

Snow Mountain Ranch also offers a variety of affordable accommodation, including lodge rooms, family cabins and reunion cabins with fireplaces, campgrounds (tent and RV) and yurts. For friends, families and groups, Snow Mountain Ranch offers so much value for an affordable price.

Nonetheless, despite all these wonderful activities the YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch is not standing still. The facility is expanding the ability to offer the traditional winter activity of tubing throughout the spring, summer and fall with the inclusion of a purpose designed and built Snowflex® tubing slope from Briton Engineering Developments Ltd.

Allowing up to eight tubes to run down the slope simultaneously, the 88m x 18m (290' x 60') Snowflex® tubing slope has been designed to give maximum thrills to children of all ages, and all in the beautiful setting of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

Julie Watkins, VP for Association Advancement at the YMCA of the Rockies said

"I have been pleased with the knowledge and experience that Briton Engineering Developments has brought to our project with their willingness to design and build something that is consistent with our objective of delivering our mission to members and guests. Briton's design and the product Snowflex® will enhance our mission and continue to allow us to bring family and friends together in a unique and uplifting environment. We are very excited about offering this opportunity to families and groups in the summer of 2014."

Terry Di Stasi, Briton's Director of Business Development, said that Briton was delighted to be part of such an impressive project and was pleased to see Snowflex® make its mark in one of the world's best traditional snowsports areas.
